A Hampton Bays woman was arrested on Saturday in Old Westbury on charges of drunken driving with a child in the car, according to Nassau County Police.

Jillian Bellows, 36, was traveling east on the Long Island Expressway near exit 39 that evening with her 4-year-old daughter in the backseat, police said.

Highway patrol officers stopped Bellows in her Toyota Scion after they saw her swerving in and out of her lane, police said.

During the stop, she was found to be intoxicated and arrested at 8:38 p.m., police said.

There were no injuries reported from the incident, and Bellows’ daughter was released to a family member, police said.

Bellows was charged with several counts of driving while intoxicated, including a violation of Leandra’s Law for endangering a child, failure to stay in a lane, driving across roadway marking, use of a portable device and speeding, police said.

She was arraigned the following day in First District Court in Hempstead, and was due for another appearance on Wednesday.
