Assemblyman Anthony D’Urso greeted constituents recently at the Sephardic Heritage Alliance, Inc. (SHAI) picnic held at Firefighters Park in Great Neck.

SHAI was founded in 1992 to help assist Iranian-American Jews with assimilating in New York and to preserve their distinctive heritage. There are now more than 1,200 families who are members of the group. They award need-based scholarships to deserving students and are a large sponsor of the Great Neck Social Center which provides programs, workshops and trips for the senior community.

“I am glad to have the opportunity to meet and speak with my constituents at the picnic,” D’Urso said.
