Each year, E.M. Baker School celebrates its cultural and ethnic diversity with a host of activities during their International Week.

This week-long multicultural celebration included guest speakers, special projects, morning announcements, and musical performances based around this year’s theme, “Rhyming Around the World.”

Every class kicked off International Week on Feb. 11 by reading the book “My Granny Went to the Market: A Round-the-World Counting Rhyme” by Stella Blackstone and Christopher Cobb.

Throughout the week, parents and staff visited classrooms to present information about different nations and share fun learning activities based on the customs, games, and languages of that country.

The celebration culminated with a school-wide International Week concert (pictured here) where students performed traditional folk songs from Ghana, Israel, Puerto Rico, Korea, and the United States.
