A motorcyclist was killed Monday evening when he was struck by a Jeep Wrangler on Jericho Turnpike in Garden City Park.
Nassau County police identified the victim as Sedat Denizhan, 36, of Elmont. Denizhan was traveling east on the turnpike when he attempted to make a left turn onto County Courthouse Road and collided with the westbound Jeep around 8:25 p.m. He was ejected from the vehicle and sustained “multiple trauma injuries.” He was taken to a hospital and pronounced dead.
The Jeep was driven by a 16-year-old female. She and her 51-year-old mother, who was also in the car, sustained minor injuries. They refused medical attention at the scene.
