A Staten Island man was arrested last Thursday for allegedly stealing over $50,000 from Kings Building Material Supply while an employee at the Roslyn Heights company, the police said.
“He was stealing money and using the business to do it,” Officer Jean Deluca-Scalone of the 3rd Precinct said.
Between November 2015 and August 2016, the man, Ryan Dambra, “falsified transactions by using credit card information belonging to third party clients,” police said. Dambra, 33, was arrested at his home at 1:55 p.m.
Dambra may have stolen both from private individuals and Kings Building Material Supply, Deluca-Scalone said.
“Crimes against property can be against a person or a company,” she said. “That’s why we’re asking other people if they think they’ve been a victim of this guy.”
The police requested that anyone who has been victimized by the defendant contact the Crimes Against Property Squad at 516-573-5275.
Dambra has been charged with one count of falsifying business records first degree and two counts of grand larceny second degree.
He was arraigned last Friday in 1st District Court.
If convicted, he could face fines and a sentence of up to 34 years.
Penalties depend on an individual’s record of prior offenses and other factors, Deluca-Scalone said.
Kings Building Material Supply is a brick and masonry distributor that serves all five boroughs of New York City.
It is located at 10 Powerhouse Road in Roslyn Heights.
