Nassau County Police arrested a man and woman dressed in biblical clothing on Thursday after approximately 120 bottles of an unknown liquid were placed by the entrance of the Theodore Roosevelt Executive and Legislative Building in Mineola, police said.

Suzanne Myron, 51, from Woodbury, and Stephen Figurasmith, 32, from Valley Stream, were arrested and charged with first degree placing of a false bomb.

Police said another 125 bottles of the substance were found in a car parked nearby and were taken for testing, police said.

The liquid was determined to be non-hazardous, police said.

A police spokesman said he did not know if Myron and Figurasmith tried to enter the building.

As of about 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, police had cautioned off the entrance of the building with tape and had officers outside the front and sides of the government building.

The officers would not disclose any information as to why the entrance was closed off, but according to a source police had said earlier they were responding to a protest.

Myron and Figurasmith will be arraigned on Friday at First District Court in Hempstead.
