Floral Park Memorial High School students, families, administrators and neighbors gathered for the school’s annual homecoming on Sept. 16.

Grand Marshal Brian Sharkey, former Floral Park Memorial assistant principal, led the parade. Members of the color guard, administrators, students, cheerleaders and Florettes followed, showing off their school spirit as they kept in beat with the marching band. Homecoming king Ryan Scheer and queen Trinity Compton and other members of the homecoming court received driven escorts for the event and waved to parade-goers who lined the streets.

After the parade, the Knights took the field against Division High School, while the high school hosted a carnival for members of the community. Local residents enjoyed playing a variety of games and jumping in an inflatable castle.

Incredible performances by the marching band, color guard, cheerleaders and Florettes made for a spectacular halftime show. Ultimately, the Knights were victorious, defeating Division 16-6.
