G.N. woman hospitalized after being struck by vehicle upstate

A Great Neck woman attending college upstate was hospitalized Monday after being struck by a vehicle driven by a fellow student while trying to cross the street, The Associated Press reported.

According to The AP, Geneseo police said the 22-year-old woman, whose identity was not disclosed, was crossing Main Street in Geneseo at 8:30 p.m. when a car driven by an 18-year-old woman from Buffalo hit her.

Both women are students at the State University of New York at Geneseo, according to The AP.

As of Tuesday, AP reported, the woman remained hospitalized at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, where she is listed in “guarded condition.”

No charges were filed and an investigation is ongoing, according to AP.

Efforts to reach Geneseo police were unavailing.
