Girl Scouts of Nassau County is excited to announce it will be celebrating National Girl Scout Cookie Weekend from Friday, Feb. 28 to Sunday, March 1.
During the three-day event, Girl Scouts will launch a pop-up shop, courtesy of Hall Lane Moving and Storage in East Farmingdale. The one-of-a-kind van will be easy to spot – it’s decorated with photos of the brand-new Girl Scout Lemon-Ups cookie – to help cookie customers find it throughout Nassau County.
Designed by Girl Scouts of the USA, the National Girl Scout Cookie Weekend serves to encourage members throughout the country to take part in the largest entrepreneurial program Girl Scouting offers and reminds Nassau County residents to support local troops by purchasing Girl Scout Cookies.
“National Girl Scout Cookie Weekend is a big tradition in the Girl Scout community. It reminds customers that Girl Scout Cookies are for sale but only for a limited time,” said Randell M. Bynum, chief executive officer of the Girl Scouts of Nassau County. “National Girl Scout Cookie Weekend is always an exciting time for our girls to work on achieving their cookie-selling goals for the season, and this year is extra exciting thanks to the generosity of Hall Lane!”
In addition to the mobile unit traveling throughout Nassau County and hosting pop-up booth sales at popular destinations, other Girl Scout troops will also host booth sales throughout Nassau County and use their digital and social media skills to spread the word about where to buy Girl Scout Cookies.

“This is the first time we are launching a Girl Scouts of Nassau County mobile unit, and we think this will add to the fun weekend. We’ll be posting to our social media, so customers can follow along to find out where we’ll be next,” Bynum said.
National Girl Scout Cookie Weekend is a crucial time for Girl Scouts to get out and not only encourage neighbors, friends and family to purchase Girl Scout Cookies to support their sales goals, but to also gain the valuable hands-on entrepreneurial skills they will carry with them for years to come.
Over the past century, Girl Scouts have learned five valuable skills needed in both life and business through the Girl Scout Cookie Program: goal setting, decision making, money management, business ethics, and people skills.
Community members may also purchase Girl Scout Cookies from Girl Scouts in Nassau County to be donated to military heroes through Operation Cookie.
