A Great Neck man died after falling off an electric scooter on Saturday afternoon, according to the Nassau County Police Department.
Detectives from the Sixth Squad said Emmanuelito Velayo, 56, was riding an electric scooter southbound on Bayview Avenue when he fell and struck his head on the pavement at the intersection with Cuttermill Road at 2:16 p.m. on Saturday.
Velayo suffered a “severe head injury” and was later pronounced dead by a physician at a local hospital, officials said.
Efforts to reach a family member and police officers for further comment and information regarding the incident were unavailing.
