The Nassau County Police Department’s Missing Persons Squad reported that a 13-year-old boy who was last seen in Great Neck was missing as of Tuesday morning.

Detectives said Areston Huerta-Lopez was last seen at his father’s workplace located at 14 South St. in Great Neck. According to officials, the 13-year-old suffers from a cognitive disorder.

Police said Huerta-Lopez’s disappearance was reported at 12:26 p.m. on Tuesday, roughly an hour after he allegedly went missing.

Officials described Huerta-Lopez as a Hispanic male, 5 feet 8 inches tall, 125 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes.  Officials said he was wearing a long-sleeve T-shirt with one-inch black and dark red stripes, dark sweatpants, and olive green Adidas sneakers.

Huerta-Lopez, officials said, is bilingual in Spanish and English. While officials said Huerta-Lopez had no known destination, he likes trains, planes, electronics and convenience stores.

Efforts to reach the family or officials for more information were unavailing.

Detectives said they request anyone with information about the missing juvenile to contact the Nassau County Missing Persons Squad at 516-573-7347, or call 911.
