Detectives from Nassau County’s 6th Squad said they are investigating a burglary attempt in a Great Neck home Thursday afternoon.

An unnamed 26-year-old man was asleep in his bedroom at a Westminster Road residence, when he was awoken by footsteps and noise from his parent’s bedroom, adjacent to his room, according to police  The man walked into his parent’s bedroom and observed two men, one holding a screwdriver in his hand, according to officials.

The two intruders then fled past him, exited the house, and entered into a white SUV with an unknown license plate number being operated by another person, according to officials.  The white SUV was last seen heading southbound on Westminster Road in Great Neck, officials said.

The 26-year-old resident was reportedly uninjured, and it is believed that the two intruders entered the home through an unlocked door, but no property was reported stolen, officials said.

The two intruders were described by officials as Hispanic, around 40 years old, 5’4″ to 5’6″ tall, both wearing dark-colored pants, colored sweatshirts, and ski masks covering their faces.
