Herricks High School is proud to announce that student musicians have earned a total of 18 All-State acceptances. Their talents will be featured at the New York State School Music Association’s Winter Music Conference, which will be held in Rochester in December.

Seven students were selected to chorus, band and orchestra ensembles. David Gonzalez joins the Mixed Chorus as a Bass 2 vocalist, Genesis Kang and Madeleine Wang will both play violin in the Symphony Orchestra, Carolyn Lau will perform in the Symphony Orchestra as a flutist, Keneil Soni will play the French horn in the Symphony Orchestra, Ranjani Srinivasan joins the Symphonic Band on Bb clarinet and Liam Tan will perform in the Symphony Orchestra as a violist.

Liam Tan and Madeleine Wang also earned acceptance to the All-State Piano Showcase; another component of the conference.

Additional congratulations go to nine students who were chosen as All-State alternates. They are Caitlin Chheda and Ved Dattaray (flute) Kailey Simons, Katherine Yee and Tina Zhao (violin), Leonardo Gomez (tenor 1), Meaghan Haller (piccolo), Ellie Kim (viola) and Esther Min (cello).

“As always, we are very proud of these musical accomplishments,” said Director of Fine & Performing Arts Anissa Arnold. “Congratulations to each of these students and to all the music teachers who have affected them along the way to this milestone.”
