Herricks High School seniors Jeremy Barrios and Nicole Garcia have received academic recognition from the College Board’s National Hispanic Recognition Program.

Each year the NHRP awards this academic honor to approximately 5,000 of the 250,000 Hispanic and Latino students who take the PSAT in their junior year.

The NHRP is an academic honor that identifies academically exceptional Hispanic/Latino students and can be used on college applications. Students are chosen based on their performance on the PSAT, and they are required to have a GPA of 3.5 or higher.

Both students are dedicated to their studies at Herricks High School. Jeremy plans to pursue a college education in political science and physics. Nicole is vice president of the National Honor Society and also serves as a Chinese student ambassador for a national program.
