Stay Active and Independent for Life Fridays at 12 noon: October 23, 30; November 6, 13, 20; December 4, 11, 18. Stay Active and Independent for Life! (SAIL) into this strength, balance and aerobic workout with Northwell Health’s very own Catherine Dunckley!

Chef Julie presents: Italian Dinner Delights Tuesday, October 27 at 7 p.m. Celebrate Italian Heritage Month with Chef Julie’s delicious homemade gnocchi and pasta sauce, with Caesar salad and dressing made from scratch! Please go to the library’s website for a list of needed supplies for this program.

Exercise and Expand your Brain Power with Brain Aerobics Wednesday, October 21 at 1 p.m. 5 sessions remain: October 28; November 4, 11, 18 at 1pm. Fun for all ages! Learn basic MEMORY techniques.

AUTHOR-IZE IT! Think Like a Writer to Win at Work & Life Wednesday, October 28 at 7 p.m. Featuring guest author, Deborah Burns. Women of all ages are invited to join featured author and inspirational speaker, Deborah Burns, for a personal and professional development workshop that shares how the principles of storytelling can enhance success.

Using Money Saving Apps on your Smart Phone Thursday, October 29 at 7 p.m. Presented by Sharper Training Solutions. Learn all about money saving apps you can use to get the best deals. You will learn how to search for these apps on your device and how to download them to your smartphone. Prerequisite: Basic knowledge of our device.

Sketching and Watercolors with Jennifer Friday, October 30 at 7 p.m. In this class we will be painting a spooky night time scene featuring jack-o’-lanterns and twisted trees! You will need: Basic watercolor set; Basic paintbrush set; 2b pencil and an eraser; A set of water color paper (if water color paper is not available, try doing a few test swipes on normal sketchbook paper with a wet brush to test for warping and color bleeding. If the paper holds the color, you’re good to go!).

Play Hooray Friday, October 23 at 11 a.m. Ages: 18 months & Up (with parent/caregiver). Stories, music and movement activities with Mollie the Mouse.

The Secrets of Magic! WOW Workshop. Friday, October 23 at 7 p.m. Ages: 7-12. Magician John Reid of the Tricky Business Magic Academy will teach this interactive workshop for kids (ages 7 to 12) where they will learn three astounding magic tricks just using things from around the house! Here is a list of items to grab from around your home to follow along with us, if you can’t find one of these items, • a Dollar Bill • two paper clips that are the same size • a Deck of Cards. • a piece of copy paper • a dime • a pencil • a pair of scissors.

STEMtastic-Haunted Candy Contraptions Monday October 26 at: 4:30 .p.m Grades: 1-4 (younger grades are suggested to have parental assistance) Registration will begin on October 16.Virtual Program. Create your own candy catapult and candy slide that will send trick or treaters their treats from a safe distance. *The material list is located on the website and will also be emailed the day before the program.

Pajama Story Time- Spooktacular Fun Wednesday, October 28 at 7 p.m. All Ages! Pick up your very own Halloween Goodie Bag and use one of the surprises during the storytime. Goodie bags will be available for Curbside Pickup on Tuesday, October 27 (and) Wednesday, October 28 from 10:30 a.m.- 4:30 p.m.. Enjoy spooky stories, music and fun. Wear your Pajamas!
