Mystery Book Club
Friday, Feb. 19 at 7 pm. “Eight Perfect Murders by Peter Swanson.” From the hugely talented author of “Before She Knew Him” comes a chilling tale of psychological suspense and an homage to the thriller genre tailor-made for fans: the story of a bookseller who finds himself at the center of an FBI investigation because a very clever killer has started using his list of fiction’s most ingenious murders.

Virtual Physician Lecture: Hearing and Hearing Disturbances Tuesday, February 23 at 12 noon. During this program, Dr. Maja Svrakic, board-certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology, of Northwell Health will discuss topics including the prevalence of hearing loss; why hearing loss should be treated and what happens if it is not; who should you see and when should you see them. These and other related subjects will be covered.

“Exercise and Expand your Brain Power with Brain Aerobics” Wednesday, Feb. 24 at 1 p.m. Wednesdays: February 24; March 3, 10, 17, 24, 31. Fun for all ages! Learn basic MEMORY techniques: Short term/long term memory games. Meditation; New ways to train the brain to think…and more!

Book Discussion –Armchair Historians Wednesday, February 24 at 7 p.m. The book being discussed is: “Hedy’s Folly” by: Richard Rhodes. Pulitzer Prize-winning author Richard Rhodes delivers a remarkable story of science history: how a ravishing film star and an avant-garde composer invented spread-spectrum radio, the technology that made wireless phones, GPS systems, and many other devices possible.

Great Flowering Indoor Plants Thursday, Feb. 25 at 7 p.m. Paulie “The Plant Guy” returns to teach us about growing flowering indoor plants.

Paint Night! Sketching and Acrylics with Alma Friday, February 26 at 7 p.m. Sketch and paint a beautiful rendition of the Eiffel Tower, with talented artist Alma. For a list of supplies you will need, please go to the library’s website.
