Our V.I.T.A. (Voluntary Income Tax Assistance) Program has been extended to Saturday May 15. You can call the library, on a weekday, to request an appointment for either 12 noon or 12:30 p.m. on that Saturday.

Meditation for Inner Peace Friday, May 7 at 7 p.m. How can we find inner peace within ourselves through meditation? Join Bruce Faithwick as he explores the aspect of going within rather than without! He will discuss the blocking out of stressful triggers, that can help us achieve a lasting state of peace. Bruce currently provides workshops and training to groups in the California area where he connects meditation and self-development to important aspects of our lives.

Tomato Plants and More! Tuesday, May 11 at 3 p.m. It’s Tomato Time! Join Plant Expert Paul the Plant Guy for a primer on Cherry Tomatoes, Big Boy, Better Boy, Beef Stake, and 2 other varieties. Bring your questions!

Virtual Physician Lecture: Ophthalmology & You! Tuesday, May 11 at 7 p.m. Associate Professor and Director of Neuro-Ophthalmology at Northwell Health, Dr. Pomeranz presents an informative lecture discussing common issues affecting the eyes including blurred vision due to needing glasses or contact lenses, glaucoma, cataracts, macular degeneration and diabetes. **This program is brought to you courtesy of Nassau Libraries Health Share.**

When Stroke Strikes – Will you be ready? Wednesday, May 12 at 11 a.m. Save your spot! Presented by Maura A. Calio, MA RN, St. Francis Hospital’s DeMatteis Center. Stroke Prevention Wednesday, May 12 at 1 p.m. Save your spot! May is Stroke Awareness Month. Get the facts to prevent, treat and beat and learn about the signs and symptoms.

Book Discussion – Fresh Fiction Book Club Wednesday, May 12 at 7 p.m. The book being discussed is: Big Lies in a Small Town by Diane Chamberlain. “From New York Times bestselling author Diane Chamberlain comes a novel of chilling intrigue, a decades-old disappearance, and one woman’s quest to find the truth.”

Discovering Your Immigrant Ancestor Thursday, May 13 at 7 p.m. Discover your ancestor(s) who came to America. Learn how to find and examine ship passenger lists, naturalization records, and other documents. This is a great program for people looking to find the town or city of origin of their immigrant ancestors.

Paint Night! Sketch and paint a Tropical Paradise with talented artist Alma. Friday, May 14 at 7 p.m. Supplies: Canvas or paint/watercolor paper, 12×16 in., yet any other size can work too. Acrylic Paints: red, blue, yellow, white and black. 3 different sized brushes: A very fine one for details (pointed round 5), a medium (flat or angle) and a larger (flash wash 3/4) one for the background. Tools: A cup with water, paper towel, mixing plastic pallet (can be a paper plate).

Yoga Thursday, May 13 at 5 p.m. All Ages Youth (Kids/Tweens/Teens). Join Yogi Micheline in an evening of relaxing poses. A yoga class for kids of all ages!

Down on the Farm! Pajama Story Time Friday, May 14 at 7 p.m. All Ages! Join Mrs. S, Ms. Karen, & Mr. B. for stories, songs, and lots of moo’s, quack’s, neigh’s, and oink’s. Wear your Pajama’s!
