Paint Night! Sketching and Acrylics with Alma Friday, June 4 at 7 p.m. Cool off this Friday night by sketching and painting a relaxing hot air balloon evening with talented artist Alma. Supplies: Canvas or paint/watercolor paper, 12×16 in., yet any other size can work too. Acrylic Paints: red, blue, yellow, white and black. 3 different sized brushes: A very fine one for details (pointed round 5), a medium (flat or angle) and a larger (flash wash 3/4) one for the background. Tools: A cup with water, paper towel, mixing plastic pallet (can be a paper plate)

Who Will Decide? Health Care and Medical Decisions in Our Changing World Tuesday, June 8 at 12 noon. Join presenter Beth Polner Abrahams as she helps residents navigate recent NYS health care laws. Topics will include: Health care decisions; Health care proxies; Living wills and End of life (DNR, MOLST) patient rights.

Meditation in Motion with Jenn Tuesday, June 8 at 7 p.m. Meditation in Motion through the use of: Relaxation, Motion and Sound.

Heart of the Matter Wednesday, June 9 at 11 a.m. Maura Calio, MA, RN from St. Francis Hospital DeMatteis Center will discuss atherosclerosis, heart disease risk, heart attack and stroke warning signs, strategies to stay healthy as well as current treatment approaches. *This program is brought to you courtesy of Nassau Libraries Health Share. Book Discussion: Fresh Fiction Book Club Wednesday, June 7 at 7 p.m. The book being discussed is: Things We Cannot Say by Kelly Rimmer. “Kelly Rimmer’s powerful WWII novel follows a woman’s urgent search for answers to a family mystery that uncovers truths about herself that she never expected.”

Headache 2021: Advancing Forward Thursday, June 10 at 7 p.m. Headache disorders are amongst the most common causes of disability worldwide. Migraine itself affects nearly 12% of the population. We will discuss the most common forms of headache, review the current understanding of migraines and update participants on current treatments. Presented by Northwell Health’s Dr. Noah Rosen; Dr. Rosen’s career is dedicated to treating what he considers an underserved patient population: those with migraine and other headache disorders.

Play Hooray Friday, June 4 at 1:30 p.m. Ages: 18 months & Up (with parent/caregiver). Stories, music and movement activities with Mollie the Mouse!

Time for Kids: Fun on the Farm! Friday, June 11 at 1:30 p.m. Ages: Birth-5 years (with parent/caregiver). Come join A Time for Kids, Inc. down on the farm in this family fun preschool program. Activities include music, movement, fine & gross motor development and storytelling. There will even be a pig puppet craft! Suggested materials: Paper lunch bag; 1 piece of pink construction paper; Scissors; Glue; Black crayon or marker.

Outdoor Adventures! Pajama Story Time Friday, June 11 at 7 p.m. All Ages! Join Mrs. S., Ms. Karen, & Mr. B. for stories, music and movement!
