Sweat it with Coach Sabrina! Fridays at 9:30 a.m.: June 25; July 2, 9, 16, 23, 30 (schedule subject to change). Get your day started with a high-energy circuit workout! Coach Sabrina will demonstrate alternative exercises at different speeds so people at various levels of fitness can participate. 6 weeks series.

Meet the Presidents Tuesday, June 29 at 7 p.m. New York Historical Society Lecture Series: Meet the Presidents: A Look at the American Presidency with Stephanie Nigito. Discover the evolution of the presidency and executive branch and the ways presidents have interpreted and fulfilled their leadership role with exhibition highlights from Meet the Presidents. Notable objects include the actual Bible used during George Washington’s inauguration in 1789 and a student scrapbook from 1962 chronicling John F. Kennedy’s decisions during the Cuban Missile Crisis.

Book Discussion – Armchair Historians Wednesday, June 30 at 7 p.m. The book being discussed is: The President and the Assassin: McKinley, Terror, and Empire at the Dawn of the American Century by Scott Miller. “The story of the momentous years leading up to the assassination, and of the very different paths that brought together two of the most compelling figures of the era: President William McKinley and Leon Czolgosz, the anarchist who murdered him.”

Oh My Aching Joints: All You Need To Know About Arthritis Thursday, July 1 at 7 p.m. The number of people living with arthritis is rising at an alarming pace. Current CDC estimates show that arthritis affects almost 53 million (or 23%) of adults. Furthermore, one in 4 patients with arthritis, is living with severe joint pain. Dr. LaBarca will discuss the risk factors for getting arthritis and what to do if you have it already. She will cover several types of arthritis that predominantly affect this community. Presented by Northwell Health’s Dr. Marie Labarca, Rheumatology specialist. **This program is brought to you courtesy of Nassau Libraries Health Share.**

Paint Night! Sketching and Acrylics with Alma Friday, July 2 at 7 p.m. Race you to the top! Sketch and paint a lighthouse beach scene with talented artist Alma. Supplies: Canvas or paint/watercolor paper, 12×16 in., yet any other size can work too. Acrylic Paints: red, blue, yellow, white and black. 3 different sized brushes: A very fine one for details (pointed round 5), a medium (flat or angle) and a larger (flash wash 3/4) one for the background. Tools: A cup with water, paper towel, mixing plastic pallet (can be a paper plate)

Jump for Joy Friday, June 25 at 1:30 p.m. Ages: 18 months- 4 years (with parent/caregiver). A fun filled movement program filled with music & dancing!

Kahoot Trivia: Fun & Games Friday, June 25 at 7 p.m. All Ages – Family Fun! Test your knowledge on outdoor fun, including games, sports, and more! All who attend will be entered in a raffle to win a prize. An additional prize will be awarded to the night’s trivia contest winner!

Book & Snack Chat Monday, June 28 at 5 p.m. Grades 5 – 8. Join us for an evening of snacks and books! Pick up a goody bag with snacks, and join us as we virtually introduce you to some of our exciting new books! Share a book with the group that you love or recently read. A great way to meet new books while munching on snacks!
