Paint Night! Sketching and Acrylics with Alma Friday, July 2 at 7 p.m. Race you to the top! Sketch and paint a lighthouse beach scene with talented artist Alma. Supplies: Canvas or paint/watercolor paper, 12×16 in., yet any other size can work too. Acrylic Paints: red, blue, yellow, white and black. 3 different sized brushes: A very fine one for details (pointed round 5), a medium (flat or angle) and a larger (flash wash 3/4) one for the background. Tools: A cup with water, paper towel, mixing plastic pallet (can be a paper plate)

We can’t stop the ageing process completely, but we can learn to slow it down. Book Discussion: Classic Book Club Wednesday, July 7 at 7 p.m. The book being discussed is: The Painted Veil by Somerset Maugham. “The Painted Veil is a 1925 novel by British author W. Somerset Maugham. Set in England and Hong Kong in the 1920s, The Painted Veil is the story of the beautiful, but love-starved Kitty Fane. When her husband discovers her adulterous affair, he forces her to accompany him to the heart of a cholera epidemic.
