For Stefanie Kalman, the director of sales and marketing at the recently opened Hilton Garden Inn Roslyn, her No. 1 job is to change expectations.

“Our goal is to get as many people to see the property as possible because we’re not a typical Hilton,” director of sales and marketing Stefanie Kalman said.

Located on the border between Roslyn and Port Washington, the Garden Inn is the first official branded hotel on the North Shore and has a sleek, modern look from top to bottom with vaulted ceilings and large windows bringing in natural light.

The hotel offers more than 6,000-square-feet of meeting and event space in both indoor and outdoor spaces, and the new location has been a popular new spot for the businesses in the neighboring Harbor View Corporate Park.

Kalman said the majority of their mid-week business comes from meetings and the weekends are filled with wedding receptions, bar mitzvahs and family reunions.

Hotel guests in all 165 rooms and suites can indulge in the upscale brand’s staple amenities, like 24-hour fitness and business centers, complimentary WiFi, in-room Keurig coffeemaker, microwave, mini-fridge and on-site dining and laundry options.

The Hilton Garden Inn Roslyn also features an indoor pool and whirlpool.

Kalman said one of the greatest features of the hotel is that it offers 70 rooms with two queen size beds, making it easy for school trips to find enough space for everyone without cramming people into full or twin size beds.

The typical bathroom door has been swapped for a modern sliding barn door, and the walk-in closet is stocked with shelves and baskets to get away from the suitcase for a few days.

The Roslyn location’s Pavilion Pantry Market is one of the earliest examples of the new Hilton Garden Inn standard, offering wine, snacks, sodas, toiletries and fresh cappuccino at all times. The lobby also has a make-to-order setup for breakfast, lunch and dinner as well as a fully stocked bar for locals and guests alike.
