Old Westbury Gardens is pleased to announce its full line-up of holiday events, including the long-anticipated Christmas in Westbury House celebration.
During weekends throughout the holiday season, visitors are encouraged to enjoy a self-guided tour of the decorated rooms throughout the Charles II-style mansion, visit and take photos with Santa, and stop in to participate in children’s crafts on Saturday and Sunday mornings from 10:00 am – 1:00 pm.
Each weekend will feature special events, from holiday markets to musical performances.
“Late November and December make for a very a magical time to visit Old Westbury Gardens,” said Nancy Costopulos, president and CEO of Old Westbury Gardens. “This year is particularly momentous since, after months of restoration work at Westbury House, we are finally able to re-open the doors for visitors to come inside the Phipps’s family home. I believe everyone will enjoy seeing Westbury House in pristine condition and get in the holiday spirit while participating in our fabulous seasonal activities.”
In addition to Christmas at Westbury House, Old Westbury Gardens will also host several events, including the return of the Holiday Market, this year with a second weekend added. Saturday, Nov. 30 through Sunday, Dec. 1, and Saturday, Dec. 7 through Sunday, Dec. 8, the market will be situated at the Barn at Orchard Hill and Orchard Hill House, providing the perfect backdrop for holiday shopping, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. With approximately fifty vendors featuring artisanal boutiques and exquisite gifts, there is no better way to get holiday shopping done.
Each weekend will feature special events, such as the tradition of Old Westbury Garden’s First Night celebration, which features a memorable Christmas tree-lighting, or the late December outdoor Owl prowl. Tea connoisseurs can also enjoy a festive Cream Tea and Westbury House Tour, featuring scones, clotted cream, jam, and tea, then a guided tour of decorated Westbury House. Space is limited, and pre-registration is required online.
“I urge everyone to get into the holiday spirit by visiting Westbury House, which is elegantly transformed for the holidays! It is a must-visit for the entire family,” added Costopulos. “Each historic room of the house is elegantly decorated with Christmas trees, wreaths, mantelpiece arrangements, topiaries, and plants.”
General admission is $12; senior admission is $10; children’s admission for ages 7-17 is $7; and children six and under, and Old Westbury Gardens members are free.
