An unnamed man who was jet skiing north of the Sands Point coast was rescued following a medical emergency Sunday night, according to the Nassau County Police Department.

At 6:50 p.m., while jet skiing, a 38-year-old male “suffered a medical episode” and was found face down in the water by a witness, according to police.

The man had drifted north of Sands Point, but the Westchester County-based New Rochelle Police Department responded and transported him to North Hempstead Beach Park in Port Washington, with the Port Washington Fire Department, Nassau County Police Marine Bureau and Nassau County Police Aviation Unit all responding.

The victim was airlifted by Nassau County police to an unnamed area hospital, where he was in serious condition.
