On April 30, the John F. Kennedy School welcomed representatives from the Town of North Hempstead for a special Earth Day and Arbor Day celebration. During an assembly for students in Kindergarten through second grade, Town Clerk Wayne H. Wink, Jr. and Councilwoman Veronica Lurvey spoke about the importance of planting trees, conserving water, and recycling. Students and staff enjoyed singing along to songs about taking care of the planet. Town representatives also presented books, plants, and reusable water bottles to help the school celebrate “Earth’s birthday.”
