LEGAL NOTICE OF
PUBLIC HEARING
PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that the Board of Trustees of the Village of Roslyn Estates will hold a public hearing at 7:30 PM on Monday, June 21, 2021, at the Village Hall, 25 The Tulips, Roslyn, New York 11576, remotely, via videoconference only, with no “in person” location, as authorized pursuant to NYS Governor Cuomo’s Executive Order 202.1, to consider the adoption of the following matter:
Bill 2 of 2021, A local law rescinding the Local Law enacted by the Village of Roslyn Estates authorizing the Village to override the tax levy limit for fiscal year 2021 pursuant to New York General Municipal Law §3-C
Section 1. Legislative Findings. The Board of Trustees of the Village of Roslyn Estates has, by Resolution adopted March 15, 2021, enacted Local Law 1 of 2021, which overrode the tax levy limit for fiscal year 2021 pursuant to General Municipal Law §3-c. This Local Law was enacted as a precautionary measure. The Village Board has determined that, as a result of the 2021 Budget process, the 2021 Budget will be kept within the tax levy limit as provided in General Municipal Law §3-c. Accordingly, in order to insure that the qualifying taxpayers of the Village of Roslyn Estates receive their rebates from the State of New York granted to qualified taxpayers within municipalities that stay within the tax cap, the Village Board must rescind Local Law 1 of 2021.
Section 2. Authority. This local law is adopted pursuant to General Municipal Law §3-c and to the provisions of the Municipal Home Rule Law.
Section 3. Rescission of Local Law 1-2021. Local Law 1-2021 adopted on March 15,
2021, and filed in the office of the Department of State on March 25, 2021, is hereby rescinded.
Section 4. Effective Date. This local law shall take effect immediately upon filing with the Secretary of State.
Persons who may suffer from a disability which would prevent them from participating in said hearing should notify Michael Tomicich, Village Clerk, at (516) 621-3541 in sufficient time to permit such arrangements to be made to enable such persons to participate in said hearing.
