Project Description: The Belgrave Water Pollution Control District proposes to replace existing, deteriorating outfall pipe with a new 3,300’ pipe that will be installed via horizontal, directional drilling. The subaqueous portion of the outfall will be abandoned in place. A 160’ section of the existing above grade outfall will be removed including the transition manhole which is located at the portion where the above ground outfall transitions to the subaqueous portion of the outfall. The existing timber pile supports for the portion of the outfall removal will be cut down to the mudline. Also proposed is installation of an effluent pump station within the existing Wastewater Treatment Plant Boundary. The project is located on Little Neck Bay at the Belgrave water Pollution Control District, Wastewater Plant, 225th Street & 34th Avenue, Great Neck, Town of North Hempstead, Nassau County, NY.

SEQR Lead Agency: Belgrave Water Pollution Control District

State Historic Preservation Act (SHPA) Determination: The proposed activity is not subject to review in accordance with SHPA. The application type is exempt and​/​or the project involves the continuation of an existing operational activity.

Coastal Management: This project is located in a Coastal Management area and is subject to the Waterfront Revitalization and Coastal Resources Act.

Availibilty for Public Comments: Comments on this project must be submitted in writing to the Contact person no later than 6/20/2019 or 15 days after the publication date of the notice, whichever is later.
