NOTICE OF RECEIPT OF TAX ROLL AND WARRANT
PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that the undersigned collector of taxes of the Village of Thomaston, in the County of Nassau, State of New York, has duly received the tax roll and warrant for collection of taxes within the Village of Thomaston for the year 2019-2020, and that I will attend for the purpose of collecting taxes listed on the tax roll at the Village Hall, 100 East Shore Road, Great Neck, New York 11023, from March 1, 2019 to March 31, 2019 during regular business hours.
TAKE FURTHER NOTICE that taxes will be received without interest by the collecting officer on or before April 1, 2018, or within thirty days of the date of first publication of this notice, whichever is later. On all taxes received after such date, there shall be added interest as provided by law until such taxes are paid. No partial payments of taxes may be made.
Section 987(1) of the Real Property Law requires the collector, on or after the thirty first day following the expiration of the period during which taxes may be paid, without interest, to mail a notice to each owner of real property upon which taxes remain unpaid on the tax roll. Such notice must state, among other things, that the taxes on the property have not been paid. The expense of mailing such notice shall be an additional penalty of One Dollar ($1.00), chargeable against the parcel.
