ROAD REPAIRS
INC. VILLAGE OF BELLEROSE
Notice to Bidders: The Village of Bellerose hereby invites the submission of bids for contractors to repairs Village roads. Sealed Bids will be received by the Board of Trustees of the Village of Bellerose at the Village Office, 50 Superior Road, Bellerose, New York, until July 3, 2020 at noon, for the street repairs described in the following two categories: (1) Emergency remedial repairs for potholes, roadbed cracks, etc.; requiring milling sealant sealant; cost estimates based upon arbitrary area of under 100 sq. ft., contractor purchases materials and documents/invoices work in ‘Category 1’ and quotes labor cost per ton. (2) Consists of larger areas described as roadbed enhancements with 10+ years’ projected life; includes full/partial milling of existing pavement to substrate depth or as warranted, sealant applied as needed; cost estimates based upon arbitrary area of 100+ sq. ft. of surface; contractor purchases materials and “tootsie-roll” sealant from supplier (Rason); documents/invoices in ‘Category 2’ and quotes labor cost per ton. Requests for detailed bid specifications may be made to Bellerose Village Hall at 516-354-1000.
Bids must be in writing and addressed to the Clerk, Village of Bellerose, and be received no later than the hours and date above stated. Contractors must present proof of their familiarity and experience in this type of work, and failure to present such proof or evidence that the contractor has performed satisfactory work of similar type in other communities may be cause for rejecting the proposal. Further, it is required that:
(1) A non-refundable deposit of Two Hundred Fifty ($250) Dollars (Check Only), will be required for all proposals submitted.
The Village reserves the right to require the successful contract to post a performance bond, with sufficient surety, for any amount not to exceed one hundred (100%) percent of the total contract price.
All proposals shall be submitted in sealed envelopes, marked clearly on the outside thereof ‘Bid Bellerose Village Road Repairs 2020’.
The Board reserves the right to waive any informality in the proposals, or reject all proposals, or to accept any proposal which in the opinion of the Board will be in the best interests of the Village.
