Since March 2020, Nassau County’s first responders and healthcare professionals have continued to selflessly serve and protect the public amidst the COVID-19 pandemic. As a token of her appreciation for their unwavering efforts, Nassau County Legislator Ellen W. Birnbaum (D – Great Neck) presented COVID-19 Caregiver pins to the leaders and staff of Northwell Health’s North Shore University Hospital staff.

Birnbaum and North Shore Universality Hospital Executive Director Jon Sendach led the ceremony, which was held on the Hospital’s executive patio. Rabbi Dr. Hillel Fox, the Hospital’s director of chaplaincy care, offered a benediction.

“Through their courageous service during the most challenging days of the COVID-19 pandemic, the outstanding team of professionals at North Shore University Hospital provided crucial support and compassionate care to our community,” Birnbaum said. “We are all grateful for their heroic efforts, and I was humbled to have this opportunity to present them with a small token of appreciation on behalf of the residents they served so well during an unprecedented public health crisis.”
