Nassau County Legislator Arnold W. Drucker (D – Plainview) joined congregants at Gurudwara Shaheedan in Hicksville on Saturday, Jan. 8 to commemorate the birthday of Guru Gobind Singh, the 10th Master of the Sikh religion. During the event, Legislator Drucker joined members of the Sikh community in celebration, prayer, and Nagar Kirtan – a tradition involving the processional singing of holy hymns.
“Nassau County’s vibrant Sikh community enriches all of our lives and strengthens the rich cultural tapestry that makes our County so unique and special,” Legislator Drucker said. “It is always a pleasure and a privilege to join with Gurudwara Shaheedan’s congregants to celebrate the rich traditions of the Sikh faith.”
