What do Judi Bosworth, Wayne Wink, Norma Gonsalves, Joseph Belesi, Dennis Dunne Sr. and Judith “Judy” Jacobs have in common?

They were all still Nassau County legislators, according to the county’s “Notify Me” website page as of Wednesday, despite being out of their positions for years and, in the case of Jacobs, deceased.

The “Notify Me” page, accessible through the Nassau County website’s site tools tab and email notification sign up option in the upper right corner, allows Nassau County residents to sign up for email and text notifications for legislators, agencies, and committees.

“I will definitely have someone look at this,” Karen Contino, a spokeswoman for the Nassau County Executive’s office, said on Thursday afternoon when notified about the discrepancies.

The notification system had North Hempstead Town Supervisor Judi Bosworth listed as the legislator for District 10, a position she held from 2008 until 2014, when she became supervisor. After notification, it was corrected to say that Ellen Birnbaum holds the position.

Wayne Wink, who became the town clerk in 2014, is also still listed as a legislator for District 11. Currently the district is represented by Delia DeRiggi-Whitton, who is also listed as still representing District 18.

DeRiggin-Whitton represented the district prior to the county redistricting in 2014. Joshua Lafazan, first elected in 2017, currently represents District 18.

Norma Gonsalves, the former Nassau County Legislature presiding officer, is also still listed as representing District 13. She declined to seek re-election in 2017. Thomas McKevitt now represents the district.

Joseph Belesi, who retired from the Nassau County Legislature and was hired to work for the Town of Oyster Bay in 2014, is still listed as representing District 14. Laura Schaefer now represents the district.

Dennis Dunne Sr. served in the Nassau County Legislature for 22 years before his appointment to the Hempstead Town Board in June 2017. He is still listed as representing District 15. John Ferretti Jr. represents the district.

Judith “Judy Jacobs, an 11-term legislator who died in 2016, is still listed as representing District 16. Arnold Drucker now represents the district.

The individual pages on the county website for the legislators are up to date.
