A Great Neck man was arrested on Friday after attempting to steal money from two people inside  an Urgent Care facility, according to the Nassau County Police Department.

Officials said 48-year-old Dardu Mihai Vamvu allegedly entered the Urgent Care at 46 Great Neck Road, inside of The Gardens at Great Neck Plaza Shopping Center Friday around 10:30 a.m. Officials said Vamvu displayed a knife and attempted to steal money from two people  before fleeing on foot.

According to a news release, police were able to track down Vamvu and no injuries were reported.  He was charged with two counts of third-degree attempted robbery and two counts of first-degree attempted robbery, according to the police.

Officials said Vamvu was arraigned at First District Court in Hempstead on Saturday, but efforts to reach a law enforcement representative for further comment or an update on the arraignment were unavailing.
