A Hempstead man was arrested Saturday afternoon after he allegedly robbed a Mineola Dunkin’ Donuts at gunpoint.

Philip Robinson, 52, allegedly entered the Dunkin’ Donuts at 120 Old Country Road at 4:55 p.m. Saturday and demanded money from a 20-year-old male clerk, brandishing a black handgun, police said.

He drove away in a gold vehicle, which police spotted on South Franklin Avenue in Hempstead a short time after officers sent a notification of the robbery, police said.

Robinson was arrested without incident on charges of first-degree robbery, first-degree criminal use of a firearm and second-degree criminal possession of a weapon, police said. No one was hurt in the robbery.

Robinson was arraigned Sunday and was set to return to court Aug. 10. Court records show he is being represented by the Legal Aid Society of Nassau County.
