Police have located the vehicle that left a 40-year-old woman hospitalized after a hit-and-run accident over the weekend.
Glen Cove police said just before 11 a.m. on Saturday what appeared to be a black Chevy Trailblazer struck the woman, a mother of three, while she was crossing Pearsall Avenue southbound, west of Walnut Road. Police reported she suffered a head injury.
On Tuesday, Glen Cove police said that the vehicle had been located and an investigation is ongoing. No other details were given.
Glen Cove Detective Lt. John Nagle said he believed the victim’s status was upgraded from critical to stable condition. He said the department was reaching out to the family to receive updates on the victim.
Nagle said the SUV “stopped momentarily and then proceeded to drive away” Saturday morning. The victim was transported to a local hospital by Glen Cove EMS.
