A Manhattan man was arrested last Friday night in connection with three burglaries at New Hyde Park homes, Nassau County police said.

Police stopped Steven Rizzo, 29, at the corner of Maple Drive West and Lakeville Road at 10:53 p.m. Jan. 27 after he unsuccessfully tried to break into a Stephen Avenue home, police said.

The resident of that house identified Rizzo as the burglar, and an investigation found he tried to break into two other Stephen Avenue homes through rear windows, police said.

Rizzo was arraigned at First District Court in Hempstead last Saturday on three counts of second-degree attempted burglary, according to online court records.

Rizzo is being held on $100,000 bail. He is represented by a Legal Aid Society attorney.
