Mineola apartment burglarized by unknown man

Nassau County police are investigating a burglary that occurred on Horton Highway in Mineola after several items were discovered to be missing.

According to a news release, a 47-year-old woman returned to her apartment around 11 a.m. Thursday and found it “ransacked, with multiple items missing.”

An unknown male, described as Black and approximately 30 years old with a heavy build, was seen entering the lobby and going toward the victim’s apartment. He was wearing a black hat, white T-shirt, blue jeans and white sneakers and carrying a black backpack. He was then seen fleeing the building on foot from the north side. Police could not say what items were missing or how long he was in the building.
