Mineola Middle School students collected more than 7,000 pounds of electronic waste through its annual eWaste Drive, held on April 23.

As part of the school’s Earth Day celebrations, students came together to collect unwanted electronics including printers, computers, tablets, phones, chargers and headphones from Mineola community members. The purpose of the drive was to collect the electronics to be recycled, so they don’t end up in landfills and become harmful to the planet.

Mineola Middle School partners with Two Brothers Scrap Metal each year to supply the metal collection container. This marked the fifth year of the drive.
