The summer has finally arrived. June came to an end, and July has just started, which means warmer weather, barbeque, fireworks, important dates, hot dogs, apple pie, and of course, a fresh new batch of movies and shows coming to Netflix.
This new month brings a lot of big titles; most monumentally, the beginning of July sees the conclusion of Stranger Things. Part 4 of this popular series will give fans the ending they have been waiting for since May. Stranger Things will have one more season before it winds down and leaves us all in tears.
Another popular Netflix original series this month will be available to fans is the horror-comedy classic Boo, Bitch. In addition to that, the fourth season of Virgin River. Plus, the fifth season of Jurassic World Camp Cretaceous has surprising ties to the summer’s blockbuster Jurassic World: Dominion. It is an animated spin-off that all ages can enjoy.
On the cinema side of things, undoubtedly, the most significant new release of July is The Gray Man. An action extravaganza from the Russo brother, who directed the last two Avenger movies, and it stars Ryan Gosling and Chris Evans. If you like to see the complete list of the news movies on Netflix this month, keep reading.
Best New Movies On Netflix – July 2022
If you are not sure what you will watch in the middle of the summer, you are in the right place. Our article contains the best new releases coming to Netflix in July 2022. This month is full of blockbusters, and you will most definitely binge-watch multiple series.
Many of us will spend the important days eating hot dogs and sitting through the final two episodes of Stranger Things, part 4, volume 2. The episodes combined are about four hours; it may seem like a lot of TV for one sitting, but you definitely said that about the previous season, and guess what happened.
After you are in recovery mode, you might like to see an animated movie like The Sea Beast. This movie was created by the same director that worked on Moana, The Emperor’s New Groove, and Big Hero 6. Fans of video games will also enjoy this month’s Netflix additions because a new Resident Evil series is highly expected. We will finally see Tom Holland bring Nathan Drake to life in the new Uncharted movie.
Before our complete list of every movie that is coming to Netflix this month, we like to spend a little time and review the newest movies on Netflix, so, without any further ado, let’s get started.
Persuasion – coming July 15th
This is a classic story of a young woman that has been convinced not to marry her true love. This movie is based on the 1818 novel of the same name written by Jane Austen, a highly underrated author and prolific writer of the final novel. Persuasion is a romantic drama that we don’t see much on Netflix (just our opinion), and it stars Dakota Johnsons as Anne Elliot.
Highlights
You may recognize this actress from 50 Shades of Gray, which is also available on Netflix for some time. The movie Persuasion follows Anne Elliot, who, at 27 years old, is still a single woman. The movie’s events are eight years after Anne was forbidden to marry Captain Frederick Wentworth. This character is played by Cosmo Jarvis, an astonishing man of humble origins who had to work to provide for his never accomplished family.
The movie reconnects Frederick and Anne and gives them a second chance to have their own love story. Alongside Dakota Johnson and Cosmo Jarvis, the film features Henry Golding. Make sure you don’t miss this one because it is worth your time.
The Gray Man – coming July 22nd
This new Netflix action movie has audiences rattled, and everyone is excited to see it. With a budget of $200 million, The Gray Man is arguably the most expensive Netflix movie ever made and gives a subtle note that captures the eye of any MCU or DC fanatics. The cast itself is extraordinary and screams superhero. For the first time, Ryan Gosling comes as the bad guy as well as Chris Evans and Ana de Armas.
The movie can be described as Fast and Furious meets James Bond, and who wouldn’t like to see that?
Highlights
Alongside Ryan Gosling, who is known from The Notebook, Crazy Stupid Love, Drive, The Place Beyond The Pines, and Chris Evans, an actor who has superhero written all over him because he was in The Fantastic Four and brought Captain America to life, the movie was directed by The Russo Brothers. The Russo Brothers are the ones who gave us the last two Avenger Movies and made every grown man in the world shed a tear for Tony Stark.
The Gray Man is a big-name title that premiers on Netflix on July 22nd, so make sure that you mark your calendar and carve out the time to see this action-thriller movie that quickly revolves around CIA black-ops mercenary.
Uncharted – coming July 15th
If you haven’t heard about Uncharted before, video games are one of the most popular titles on PlayStation. The first Uncharted game came out in the early 2000s, and most people immediately disqualified it because it was too similar to Tomb Raider or Indiana Jones.
However, the game features Nathan Drake, a very likable character that stole the hearts of every video game fanatic. Since then, the game has passed every similar treasure hunting adventure.
Highlights
In the new movie, Nathan Drake is played by non-other than Tom Holland, Hollywood’s sweetheart. Tom is most famously known for playing Spider-Man, and in Uncharted, he managed to transfer all of the same stunts like climbing, swimming, running, or just avoiding any kind of danger that will keep you on the edge of your seat. Tom portrays Nate as a smooth-talking treasure hunter that can steal any jewel and win over every woman’s heart.
In the video game, Nathan Drake has a brother Sam, a character that does not appear in the movie; however, Victor Sullivan, another well-liked character from the video game, appears, and Mark Wahlberg portrays it. The bad guy in the film is Antonio Banderas. Make sure to catch Uncharted on July 15th on Netflix.
Goodfellas – coming July 1st
This movie came out in 1990, and it is one of the most highly-rated films of all time. Goodfellas is a masterpiece that was created and directed by Martin Scorsese. He gathered a group of some of the best actors in Hollywood, and no wonder the movie came out so good. This one is a classic, and since the passing of Ray Liotta, the actor who played the main antagonist, Netflix decided to put it on the platform for everyone to rewatch it.
Highlights
The movie has a quote that is used to this day: “As far back as I can remember, I always wanted to be a gangster. For me, being a gangster was better than being the President of the United States.”. With this dialogue, the movie begins, and it is narrated by Henry Hill, played by Ray Liotta.
Alongside Mr. Liota, the film features Robert De Niro and Joe Pesci. Bobby De Niro is a guy who doesn’t need any introduction, and Joe Pesci also starred in Home Alone.
If you haven’t seen the movie yet, we won’t spoil it, but don’t get attached to any characters and enjoy the ride. The two hours will pass by in two minutes.
Best New TV Shows on Netflix – July 2022
Stranger Things Volume 4 Part 2 – coming July 1st
The first part of volume 4 came out in May, and fans have been dying to see what happens next. If you haven’t seen Stranger Things yet, there is nothing that we can really say to explain the plot without confusing you or revealing a major spoiler. The show is so good, you only need to watch the first episode, and you will be hooked. The series has a fantastic atmosphere that will transfer you to the past without any smartphones and gadgets in simpler times when kids were riding bikes and playing Dungeons and Dragons.
Highlights
Volume 5 will be the show’s final season, so on a positive note, we have another year to wait before we sob like little babies. This fan-favorite Netflix Original sci-fi horror drama comes on the platform on the 1st of July.
There may be only two episodes, but we are sure they will be jam-packed with action and answer every mysterious question of Vecna, who makes it, and who actually dies. The episodes combined will be around two and a half hours long. Get your tissues ready and capture the finale of Stranger Things Volume 4.
Boo, Bitch – coming July 8th
This Netflix Original mini-series gained much attention after the trailer came out, and everyone is eager to see it. Boo, Bitch is a story of two best friends that make their final attempt to become popular in their senior year of high school. After being undermined, dissed, and ignored by almost everyone at the school, the two girls like to make one final effort to become popular, but, unfortunately, things don’t go as planned, and one of them dies and becomes a ghost.
Highlights
After one of the girls becomes a ghost, their mission of leaving a legacy hasn’t changed. As portrayed by Lana Condor, Erika does everything in her power to become the ultimate queen by acquiring new clothes and growing on social media. Her dreamboat boyfriend, played by Mason Versaw, is Jake, one of the school’s coolest guys. You can think of this mini-series as Mean Girls meets Glee.
This delightful new adventure features Lana Condor, Zoe Margaret Colletti, Mason Versaw, Aparna Brielle, Reid Miller, Madison Thompson, and many more. If you like a fresh and fun new show to enjoy, Boo, Bitch is a perfect choice.
Resident Evil – coming July 14th
Yet another video game adaptation turned into a viewing experience. Resident Evil is one of the most popular horror games of all time. There are more than 15 games available on all gaming consoles.
This new horror series has excited every fan of the game and everyone that enjoys being scared. Resident Evil is a revolutionary game that changed the whole gaming industry and the horror genre. There are many games, but they are different, and everyone has a favorite.
Highlights
Since the trailer came out, fans were excited that this is not another animated series, and we get to see actual zombies roaming around the streets. The events happen in London in 2036, and hordes of zombies are shuffling across the ruined metropolis.
Like many video game adaptations these days, the directors are becoming more aware of what the fans actually enjoy. It appears that Netflix’s Resident Evil captures everything that the mythical fandom comes to expect.
Like the original Resident Evil games, the show brings a terrifying yet enjoyable atmosphere and excellent source material. This slow-paced horror is also filled with drama and mystery.
The show’s creators did not reinvent the wheel and stuck to the roots of the original games. Ella Balinska plays Jade Wesker, and her father, Albert Wesker, is portrayed by Lance Reddick.
Kung Fu Panda: The Dragon Knight Season 1- coming July 14th
Coming on the same day as Resident Evil, if you are not a fan of gore and horror, you can enjoy your day by watching Kung Fu Panda and gathering the whole family. Jack Black returns with his charismatic and unique voice, alongside Rita Ora, James Hong, Ed Weeks, Amy Hill, Chris Geere, and Rahnuma Panthaky.
Highlights
The third installment of the Kung Fu Panda animated series is called The Dragon Knight and follows Po, the panda, as he goes on a trip through ancient China to find food. The panda is urged to do so by his father, Mr. Ping, voiced by James Hong. The journey of Pu is cut short when a couple of weasels attack the village that Pu was staying in, which was also the home of a precious gauntlet.
Unfortunately, the panda fails to stop the weasels from getting away and damaging the village, so he must change the course of the journey. The emperor of the village strips him from the Dragon Warrior titles. Pu likes to redeem himself in the eyes of his father and the people of the village. For that reason, he crosses patches with Wandering Blade, and both go on a journey for revenge. The story is incredible, and so are the visuals.
