Authorities have determined that a house fire that occurred at 104 Hillside Blvd. in New Hyde Park on May 12 was an accident related to the electrical system.

At 6:37 a.m., the New Hyde Park Fire Department responded to a 911 call from a neighbor who saw the fire, according to Nassau County Assistant Chief Fire Marshal Michael Uttaro. Firefighters arrived at the house within three minutes.

After kicking in the back door of the house, they safely evacuated six occupants and a dog, who were on the second floor of the house, police said. The fire broke out on the third floor. There were smoke detectors on the first and second floor, but not the third, according to Uttaro.

No injuries were listed, he said.

Firefighters managed to contain the blaze to the room of origin.

The fire is under routine investigation by the arson and bomb squad and was deemed not suspicious.
