It is with pleasure and enthusiasm that I publicly endorse Jaclyn O’Donohue for the elected position of trustee for the Floral Park Bellerose School District.
I’ve known Jackie since she was five years old. My children attended John Lewis Child’s School and Floral Park Memorial High School with Jackie where she was a popular student who was always involved in extracurricular activities.
At this particular time in our history when our elected officials appear to have lost all common sense, elected officials with Jackie’s talents and decision-making abilities are an absolute necessity.
She is fiscally responsible, understands the value of an education and the critical role that teachers play in the education of our children. She is aware that Floral Park Bellerose has dedicated, extremely competent and loyal teachers. Jackie wants to assure that we continue to attract and keep these types of teachers.
Jackie is aware that our school’s structures need to be maintained and kept in good repair. A clean and safe learning environment is extremely important in education. Unlike many other school districts that are in disrepair, our structures are in excellent condition. This does not happen without elected officials making sound commonsense decisions.
Jackie also understands that it is the school system that offers children the opportunity to expand their horizons and experiences.
During this time in our history when it is almost a necessity for both parents to work to survive, Jackie understands that the role of schools and teachers has been expanded well beyond simply educating. This is unfortunate but nonetheless a reality, that has to be accommodated.
Like all other communities across America, Floral Park is changing and we need elected officials to shepherd us through these changes without any serious bumps in the road and without a decline in the quality of education offered by the Floral Park Bellerose School District.
I ask that you vote for Jaclyn O’Donohue for trustee for the Floral Park Bellerose School Board. You cannot make a better choice.
