The Amsterdam at Harborside, a retirement community in Port Washington, announced last week the appointment of two new leaders.

Brooke Navarre will serve as executive director, and Michael Tartaglia will serve as the Tuttle Center administrator.

Navarre has worked for the Amsterdam since 2015, when she joined as the assistant executive director. Before coming to Port Washington, she managed luxury high-rise cooperatives on Central Park West and handled the daily operations of a 2,900-unit cooperative corporation in Queens.

“It’s rewarding to work hard at something so worthwhile,” Navarre said in a statement. “The Amsterdam residents and employees are my family.”

Tartaglia has over 35 years of experience working as a health care administrator in New York and Connecticut.

“The Amsterdam at Harborside offers an important service in Nassau County,” he said in a statement. “I’m honored to join an organization with such a strong reputation for providing quality care, certainty and peace of mind to seniors.”

Tartaglia will oversee the Tuttle Center, which provides on-site care to residents from assisted living to skilled nursing and rehabilitative services.

“Both Brooke and Michael are experienced leaders and team builders,” said Amsterdam Continuing Care Health System President and CEO James Davis. “Over the past two years, Brooke has proven her ability to work with both our staff and residents to build an even stronger sense of community here. Michael has demonstrated an exceptional ability to implement new approaches to improve both clinical and financial outcomes in the organizations in which he has worked. We are fortunate to have them as part of our team.”
