The New Hyde Park BU10 Barca Lions team competed in the North Hempstead Cup Gold Bracket and came in first place on Sunday, Oct. 7.
The Barca Lions won all three games, starting with a dominating 7-1 win over Albertson Heat with goals from Michael Frising A.J. Melgarejo, Stephen Perno, Anthony Mangiaracina, and Daniel Raziyev.
The goalies gave a strong performance: Kevin Meegan had two saves and A.J. Melgarejo had three saves.
The Lions then had a 5-1 win against the Syosset Sao Paolo with goals from Demetris Panouis, Daniel Raziyev (2), and Aidan Tice (2). Andrew Liu was spectacular in goal and had 10 saves.
The Barca Lions finished off with a 5-1 win over the Great Neck Strikers with goals from AJ Melgarejo (2), Anthony Mangiaracina (2), and Daniel Raziyev.
Goalie Giuseppe Seidita had 5 saves.
