The Floral Park Memorial High School girls basketball team recently traveled to Troy, New York, to compete against in the New York State Class A semifinals.
The Lady Knights defeated the Garnets, 61-55, to reach the state finals for the first time in school history. Floral Park is the first team in Nassau County’s Class A Division to reach the finals since 2000.
Floral Park ultimately lost in the finals to Jamesville-Dewitt High School.
Faith Balletta, Aideen Gill, Marykate Guerriero, Natalie Hickman and Kaela Hilaire delivered strong upstate performances. In addition, Balletta and Hilaire won the All-Tournament Team Award and Guerriero was honored with the Sportsmanship Award.
The team and coaching staff would like to thank everyone for their tremendous support and hope they made the Floral Park community proud.
