A Glen Head man was arrested in Upper Brookville on Wednesday for an October burglary in which police said he burglarized a neighbor’s property but did not remove anything from the residence.

Nassau County Police said Thomas Laviano, 24, surrendered to Second Squad officers and was charged with 2nd degree burglary.

On Oct. 27, a 58-year-old woman returned to her Colonial Drive residence to find the rear basement door and second floor window open, police said.

An ensuing investigation yielded DNA evidence that police said led them to Laviano, who was placed under arrest without incident.

Laviano is scheduled to be arraigned on Jan. 6 at First District Court in Hempstead.
