A 178-year old historic house in the Village of Roslyn has been listed for sale for $719,000.

“The home is historic because of the age and because it is a Roslyn Historic Landmark,” said Nicole Eskanazy of Douglas Elliman Real Estate, who listed the house on the market.

Eskanazy said the two-story building located at 95 E. Broadway was built over three different centuries.

“The first piece of the house, which has the living room, was built in the 1700s, the middle part of the house was added in the 1800s and the third piece was built in the 1900s,” Eskanazy said.

The two-bedroom, two-bath home is furnished with an original wide-plank hardwood floors, a formal dining room and a living room with a wood-burning fireplace.

Eskanazy said the eat-in kitchen in the home was renovated in 2010 and features Fischer & Paykel appliances. Beamed ceilings throughout the house add vintage charm.

She said the house also comes with a barn with was brought over from the State of Vermont fully intact.

“This house comes with a lot of history,” Eskanazy said. “The barn has been used for different purposes from Halloween parties to wedding celebrations.”

The house itself is 900 square feet and the barn is probably the same size or bigger, Eskanazy said.

There are English gardens in the backyard along with the barn wired for electricity and is located just across the duck pond.
