HMTC to show ‘intimate Murder’ Dec. 30

The Island Now

The Holocaust Memorial and Tolerance Center of Nassau County presents a special exhibit of black and white photography, “Intimate Murder: Mass Killings of Jews, Roma and Sinti by Germans and Local Collaborators,” which will be on display through Dec. 30, at HMTC, Welwyn Preserve, 100 Crescent Beach Road in Glen Cove.

This minimalist exhibit juxtaposes pre-war Jewish, Roma and Sinti life with the mass murder of these groups by the Einsatzgruppen (German mobile killing squads) and local participants.

The exhibit is purposely stark to highlight the contrast between normalcy and the horror of genocide.

For more information about the exhibit call HMTC at (516) 571-8040.
