Hurricane Grill raises money for NHRF

The Island Now

All of the proceeds from a special food and drink menu at all Nassau County Hurricane Grill & Wings locations (Syosset, Levittown and Garden City) was donated to the Nassau Hurricane Recovery Fund. A silent auction, consisting of rare comic books, comic book art and autographed sports memorabilia, also took place at the Garden City location in an effort to benefit the NHRF.

“I am so grateful to Hurricane Grill and Wings for their generous offer to provide proceeds of their sales to Nassau’s Hurricane Recovery Fund,” said Nassau County Executive Edward Mangano. “Thanks to local businesses, the Nassau Hurricane Recovery Fund has been able to provide some form of support to those who have been unable to overcome the financial hurdles associated with the storm and the recovery.”

The NHRF was created by Nassau County Executive Edward P. Mangano in November 2012 to collect and organize donations and distribute them to victims of Sandy. Priority is given to those applicants who are not entitled to reimbursement from FEMA, do not have homeowners or flood insurance and are not receiving assistance from other government relief programs.
