An Illinois man was arrested in Roslyn Heights on Saturday after he crashed his car into a utility pole on Motts Cove Road, Nassau County police said.
Scott J. Jutkins, 37, of St. Charles, Ill., was traveling westbound on Bryant Avenue when he lost control and collided with a pole on the side of the road, according to police.
Jutkins had one passenger in the car, a 36 year old woman, who was injured and transported to an area hospital listed in serious condition.
Police said Jutkins was charged with assault and driving while intoxicated. He was arraigned at the First District Court in Hempstead on Sunday, bail was set at $20,000 cash or bond.
He was set to reappear in court on Wednesday.
