Coming off of a 2-1 win last weekend against the Massapequa Rowdies, the New Hyde Park GU11 Lady Jaguars had an exciting 2-1 victory against the Levittown Super Sonics.
Goals were scored by Vrisida Bouzos and by Tessie Cash on a header. Linda Artusa was fantastic in goal. She saved the game with a late inning play, robbing the Sonics of a goal.
The offensive team of Sammie Coope, Mary Tsahas, Aisling McGrath, Claire O’Regan , Nora Higgins and Alex Caldwell were great.
The defensive team of Andrea Bouzos, Sam Corrigan, Jillian Fager and Caitlin McDonough kept the Sonics scoreless for the second half of the game.
Coaches Brian Higgins, Tom McGrath and Frank O’Regan were very proud of the team’s efforts.
Of course, the Lady Jaguars credit their success to the fans who loyally cheer them on each game. Thank you, folks!
