Lincoln, Rebhuhn deserve re-election in GN

The Island Now

On Tuesday, Dec. 11,  two very valuable public officials come up for re-election: Robert Lincoln, chairman of the Great Neck Park Board; and Jane Rebhuhn, commissioner of the Great Neck Water Pollution Control (Sewage) District.

I urge all eligible residents of Great Neck to come out and vote for these two outstanding, dedicated public servants.

During his 12  years of service, Bob Lincoln has contributed greatly to the rehabilitation and upgrading of our parks and park programs to make them safer and more responsive to the needs of all park district residents, while keeping costs as low as possible. He has helped to create an atmosphere of openness and respect for the rights and desires of all Great Neck residents. Bob Lincoln’s outstanding and dedicated service strongly merits his re-election.

Jane Rebhuhn, an experienced architect and engineer, has contributed exceptional knowledge and expertise in the field of wastewater treatment as well as regulatory and environmental issues during her 15 years of service to the community.  Jane’s knowledge and dedication has been instrumental in the District=s delivering sewer services to residents at a cost that is among the lowest in Nassau County.

In first-hand experience attending district meetings during the past five years, I have observed that Jane Rebhuhn has played a central role in the development and now the current ongoing reconstruction of Great Neck’s two sewage treatment plants, combining them into one high-tech, consolidated facility. The savings from this complex, $60 million project, undertaken to comply with federal and state law, will generate millions of dollars of tax savings, enough to pay for virtually the entire project.

We need to keep Jane Rebhuhn on the job to ensure that this vital project is completed efficiently right down to the last detail and to ensure continuing effective oversight in the years to come.

Vote at the Baker School (69 Baker Hill Rd.) or the Senior Center (80 Grace Ave.).
